More than 100,000 dollars worth of Swiss Euros were discovered to have clogged the toilet bowls of four neighboring establishments – three restaurants and a bank- in the city of Geneva, Switzerland.
Investigations are ongoing as plumbers found sliced €500 bills clogging the toilets. The incidents occurred in a series of episodes and months, one after the other.
Throwing, cutting, slicing, or ruining money in Switzerland is not illegal. However, authorities are still puzzled as they cannot think of any reason why the money’s owner would waste it by flashing it down the toilet.
Henri Della Casa from the Geneva Prosecutor’s Office stated in an interview,”There must be something behind this story. That’s why we started an investigation.”
In the recent reports, it said that there were two people who volunteered to pay the damages made by the soiled money. However, it still is not clear if the money would be given back to the two alleged owner. Authorities said that it would depend if the money is to have been earned legally or not.
