Jeyrick Sigmaton, famously known as Carrot Man, rose to fame when his photos went viral on social media. He is a young man from the Mountain Province in Cordillera where he is a vegetable farmer. His undeniably good looks captured the hearts of many ladies.
Carrot Man was seen in GMA television shows like “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” and “Vampire Ang Daddy Ko.” Jeyrick’s life story was even told in the drama anthology, “Magpakailanman.” His dream of meeting his idol, Willie Revillame also came true.
His popularity opened many breaks for him. Carrot Man was even given an opportunity in the modeling industry. He was also able to travel in the UK and in South Korea.
So, whatever happened to this handsome young man?
Recently, “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” paid Jeyrick a visit in Baguio where he currently resides. Since the city’s climate is not as cold as in Mountain Province, he does not have the need to grow his hair longer. He also mentioned that he has grown accustomed to the attention he was getting from fans.
The online sensation’s appearances on television, events, and advertisements were a huge help for the studies of his siblings.
“Nung nag-viral ako, napunta ako sa iba’t ibang lugar at bansa. Nakaipon ng kaunting income mula sa mga event na siyang ginagamit ko para sa pag-aaral ng aking mga kapatid,” he said.
Though a lot of opportunities are coming his way, Carrot Man told the show that he still prioritizes his studies. He wishes to finish high school to support his siblings’ education.
According to Jeyrick what’s more important aside from fame is that he was able to share Ekachacran tribe’s culture and tradition. He was grateful for the existence of social media as he was able to represent the modern face of his tribe.
