For the past few days, many have speculated about Nadine Lustre’s younger brother, Isaiah, allegedly committing suicide. In a previous report, we learned that the actress posted a picture of a semi-colon with a black background. She used the hashtag “#KeepGoing.” Her boyfriend, James Reid, also shared the same post.
Many believed that she may have been referring to suicide awareness. The semi-colon symbol was used by Amy Bleuel to signify suicide awareness and it has since caught on. She inked herself with the symbol to pay homage to her father who took his own life. She founded Project Semicolon to help those suffering from depression, suicidal thoughts, and mental illness. Sadly, Amy committed suicide on March 23, 2017.
Recently, it was confirmed by Nadine’s aunt that her younger brother, Isaiah Paguia Lustre, has indeed committed suicide. This has also been confirmed by police reports.
According to Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), Nadine’s aunt Nona Clemente tweeted:
“Please lift a prayer for my nephew, Isaiah Lustre. Eternal rest grant unto him Oh Lord.”
Nona is the first cousin of Nadine’s father, Ulysses Lustre. Her tweet was dated October 11, 2017. Nona followed it up by thanking the people who offered their family sympathies and condolences.
Nona also shared a clip of Gary Valenciano singing “I Will Be Here” with a coffin in the background. It was presumed that the singer was at a wake.
An excerpt of Nona’s words on the clip says:
“Thank you for the words of hope, love and faith @garyvalenciano. Thank you for taking time to be with us together with your family. We love you all.”
The source has confirmed that Isaiah’s tragic passing occurred on October 7, 2017, Saturday. The 16-year-old reportedly shot himself in the head. According to his siblings Ezekiel and Naomi, they were playing with their iPads when they heard two gunshots emanate from their brother’s room.
Police Officer (PO3) Elario Wanawan of the QCPD-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit said that authorities found Isaiah’s body sprawled on the floor and covered in blood.
Many local celebrities also gave their support and sympathies to Nadine Lustre and her family.
We offer our deepest and sincerest condolences to the Lustre family. May Isaiah find refuge in God’s kingdom.
