MANILA, Philippines — Runway 06/24 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport was closed for emergency repairs until 1 p.m. Thursday.
A media advisory from the Manila International Airport Authority Thursday morning did not say when the main runway was closed but said the NAIA’s domestic runway “will remain open for flight operations.”
This includes international flights by aircraft as large as the Airbus A320 series.
“The MIAA management seeks the understanding of the public in the interest of safety,” the agency said.
It gave the following numbers for inquiries on the status of flights:
- Terminal 1: 8771109 loc 765
- Terminal 2: 8771109 loc 2880 and 2882
- Terminal 3: 8777888 loc 8144
- Terminal 4: 8771109 loc 4226
