In our country, some neighborhoods are overrun by stray dogs, terrorizing homeowners and strangers alike into submission. More often not, these dogs bite anyone they perceive as a threat, especially if they’ve become wild and feral. Aside from the trauma and pain of dog bites, patients are also given vaccinations to prevent rabies, a fatal viral disease.

The show, “Raffy Tulfo in Action“, entertained the complaint of a clothes washer, or labandera, Jocelyn Esponilla. According to her, she was bitten by roaming dogs, or asong gala, reportedly owned by a certain Felicidad Arcenue.

Felicidad said that her dogs were kept on leashes. Since their area was bulldozed, the dogs’ chains broke, setting them loose.

Since it was her fault that the dogs were not tied, Felicidad is duty-bound to help Jocelyn, or else they will confiscate the dogs.

She promised to pay Jocelyn once she’s able to earn enough money as a peddler. “Walang wala po talaga akong ngayon, sir,” Felicidad told Raffy Tulfo.

But Jocelyn immediately wanted to get compensated for what she spent as medical expenses. “Gumawa ka ng paraan,” she said to Felicidad.

Although they previously settled the matter in their barangay hall, Jocelyn still went onto the program to complain.

Upon further examination, Jocelyn received treatment from East Avenue Medical Center, a public hospital in Quezon City. Tulfo turned the tables on Jocelyn, saying that if she was treated in a public hospital, she wasn’t supposed to pay for anything. “Eh libre po ‘yan, bakit po kayo nagbayad?” he asked.

Jocelyn meekly said, “Sabi daw po may bayad.”

According to Tulfo, if she was able to prove that she paid for something, Jocelyn has to show the receipt as proof of payment.

They say that when a dog has its day, it means that a person will have a time in his life when he becomes successful or lucky. But today might not be Jocelyn’s day.

She tried to act as sick as a dog, but Tulfo was not yet done attacking.

Tulfo also warned against pandurugas, or taking advantage of another person’s situation. He also clarified that even though she complained first, it still doesn’t mean she will get what she wants.

Jocelyn might’ve bitten more than she can chew, after all.
