Senator Antonio Trillanes made waves recently after he accused Presidential son, Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, of being a member of the Triad – an international crime syndicate based in China. Paolo Duterte’s sister, Davao City Mayor “Inday” Sara Duterte then poked fun at the senator after learning that they were inside the same building.
In a Facebook post, the Presidential daughter shared a screencap of her Viber conversation with a friend who gave her a heads up that Senator Trillanes was nearby.
“For info, Ma’am. Nasa hotel din si Trillanes,” the mayor’s friend said.
“Perfect timing. Ako na bibira. Pahiram ng martilyo,” Duterte jokingly responded. She also captioned the photo with the words: “That Thing Called Tadhana,” a reference to the popular Filipino indie romance film.
While an obvious joke, Sara Duterte’s words can still be construed as a threat to induce physical harm.
This is not the first time that Sara Duterte has jested about Senator Trillanes. Earlier, she posted a photo of a “triad tattoo” and captioned it with: “Trillanes and USDea. Paki Decode. Please. By the way, thank you Edwin Miraflores for the triad tattoo.”
Sara Duterte followed it up with a badly photoshopped picture that accused Senator Trillanes of being a “triad spy” with the caption: “Finally. Decoded.”
Senator Trillanes accused Paolo Duterte of having links with the Triad, which the senator claims can be proven through the Davao City Vice Mayor’s back tattoo that allegedly contained “sacred digits.”
Paolo Duterte’s lawyer, Rainier Madrid, countered Trillanes’ accusation by implying that the senator was “gay.”
Atty. Madrid said:
“I thought it will be explosive? Where are they?…You only presented the body. The body of ano — is he gay? If he’s gay, probably, if he said that to me, ‘I want to see yours,’ then I would have probably showed it myself.”
“I have not seen it because I’m not gay.”
