A teacher is supposed to teach her students not only academic stuff but also good values. However, a woman from Milwaukee, Wisconsin has done something unthinkable to an 11-year-old boy. She was arrested and charged with first-degree sexual assault. However, she claims that she only wanted the boy to feel that someone is there for him because he was ‘chronically depressed.’
Last March, authorities took Katherine Gonzales, but she was able to pay the bail. Since then, she told the court that she was under therapy.
In her recent hearing where she was pronounced guilty to ‘second-degree sexual assault of a child,’ asked for forgiveness on her ‘unthinkable actions.’
Moreover, the teacher said that the treatments had helped her have fewer flashbacks. Gonzales revealed that she was sexually abused while still in college.
The teacher and the student did not have sexual intercourse, but Judge Mark Sanders sentenced her to five years in prison to avoid similar incidents. None of the victim’s family were present during the hearing.
According to the prosecutors, they have felt each other’s ‘private parts through their clothing.’
Gonzales asked the 11-year-old to keep what happened as a secret because she could get fired job and be sent to prison. She admitted to authorities that she also said different things to make the student ‘happy.’
Authorities together with Atlas Preparatory Academy have sent a letter to parents, saying that a teacher was on administrative leave. The school’s executive director, Michelle Lukacs signed the note and stated that Milwaukee Police Department is looking into a case of a teacher who has allegedly sexually assaulted an underage student outside school premises.
