He has no choice but to bring his 2-year-old son with him as nobody would take care of him.
Being a tricycle driver in the Philippines can be hard. These hardworking drivers have to drive for hours, under the hot sun, and even have to adjust to the country’s traffic problems. For this tricycle driver, his job became doubly hard after her wife them him and their son.
Apparently, his wife met a man on Facebook, and decided to leave them for him. Rodolfo “Rudy” Pastrana had no choice but to bring his along, as nobody can take care of him. It was until Facebook user Jane Eguillos noticed the hardworking father, and decided to share the photos along with their story on the said social media platform.
“May asawa ako 3yrs kami ang kaso simula noong binilhan ko ng cellphone at nag Facebook, may nakilala siyang lalaki at doon sumama siya. 2 buwan na nya kamining iniwan,” Rudy told Jane.
[I have a wife of 3 years. But soon after I bought her a phone and she started using Facebook, she met a man online and eventually went to him. She has left us for more than 2 months now.]
Many netizens were touched by the father and son’s story, that it eventually reached a show called “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho”. The show’s staff learned that Rudy didn’t own his tricycle, and that he paid a boundary of P150 every day. In addition to that, they also learned that he had to walk 2km from his house to the owner’s house every day.
The staff then gave Rudy groceries, milk, and diapers, for his son. And gave him his own tricycle to start anew! Watch his heartwarming story here:
