News are bearing headlines of veteran and freelance journalist Philip Lustre, Jr. after he slammed the grieving families of the 44 dead soldiers of the Special Armed Forces (SAF) or the SAF44 of the Mamasapano Massacre.

Lustre posted on Facebook that the loved ones left behind by the SAF44 have a “sense of entitlement” and “made a lot of unnecessary annoying noises” contrary to the “stoic attitude” of the families left behind by government soldiers who died during the Marawi clash.

The former journo’s incriminating statements brought up parts of his history to shame his insulting words.

Lustre was an alleged Personal Relations (PR) officer of the Mar-Leni 2016 campaign, as well as a former PR consultant for the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

He was infamous back then for allegedly setting fire an apartment he was renting at No. 54-H Malakas Street, Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City.

The fire killed Lustre’s girlfriend Violeta Robles, a certain Veronica Roxas, and Roxas’ four children.

Neighbors and witnesses pinned the blame at Lustre since he was the last person seen leaving the apartment before it went ablaze.

Lustre denied the accusations and the lack of complaints compelled the Central Police District to turn him into a witness instead.
